Horne audibles at the line of scrimmage |
With the game tied at 28-28, all-time quarterback Mr. Horne led the Giants on a 6-play, 80 yard drive, that ate up just over two minutes on the clock. The drive ended on the game's last play when Horne spotted Jace running free across the endzone. Jace hauled in the pass and was immediately mobbed by teammates celebrating his game-winning touchdown.
"Big players make big plays," stated Horne. "This was a well played game all around, but the Giants ended up making one more big play when it was all said and done."
For the first time in league history, siblings faced each other during a regular season game. The Giants' Zach went up against his twin brother Dillon, who plays for the Highlanders.
The twins were having a great battle on the field throughout the game. They found themselves covering each other on most plays.
Dillon injured his knee in the 3rd quarter |
"I'm sad for Dillon that he got hurt and had to miss most of the second half," remarked Horne. "However, I am very happy to hear that he is feeling better, and that he might return to action in his next game."
Dillon is listed as "probable" for his next game against the Wolverines on December 12th.
Johnny had a "pick 6" on this interception return |
Ryan O had the play of the game, when he caught a short slant, reversed his field, and made all four defenders miss their chance to touch him down, as Ryan weaved his way downfield for an 80 yard touchdown.
Niklas led the Highlanders (2-1) with an outstanding individual performance that included 6 receptions for 211 yards, and 3 touchdowns.
