Howell, MI - The Highlanders dominated play on both sides of the ball in their 42-7 win over the Lions. The Highlanders (2-0) now stand alone in first place with their victory. The Lions (0-1-1) dropped to fifth place in the standings after their loss.

Niklas led the Highlanders with 3 TDs
Niklas had a breakout game for the Highlanders, as all three of Niklas' receptions went for touchdowns.

Kaden also had a big day for the Highlanders. Kaden caught two passes, added two interceptions, and scored two touchdowns. "(Kaden) had one pick-6 in the first half, and almost had another pick-6 in the second half," said all-time quarterback Mr. Horne.

Kaden's right foot stepped out of bounds on his second interception, otherwise he would have easily waltzed into the endzone for his third touchdown of the day.

Nathan played well for the Lions, as he reeled in three receptions for 66 yards and one touchdown.

Nathan hauled in 3 receptions for the Lions
"Nathan started out the game on fire," said Horne. "However, the Highlanders noticed his hot start and they started to roll their coverage to his side, making it harder for Nathan to get open in the second half."

There was still some positive results, even though the Lions suffered a tough defeat. The Lions defense was able to shut down one of the Highlanders top offense weapons, Dillon. The Lions were focused on keeping the ball out of Dillon's hands, and a complete defensive team effort left Dillon without a catch.

Dillon will be facing twin brother Zach on November 14th
News and Notes:
For the second game in a row, game-time temperatures were well above the average temperature for October. Today's high was 75 degrees ..... Today marked the first time all season that a game was played at the bus loading area. The game was moved to the blacktop because of overnight rains that caused the grass field to become very wet and muddy ..... The Highlanders vs Giants game on November 11 will mark the first time in league history that two twins we be on opposing teams. The Highlanders' Dillon will take on his twin brother Zach, who plays for the Lions ..... Mr. Horne started the game despite being listed as 'questionable' for the second straight week. "My wrist is still not 100%," stated Horne. "I wasn't about to let these kids down today. They've been looking forward to this game all week. I can let the wrist heal in the off-season."
