Howell, MI - The Lions know where they'll be, come March 2nd. Their 28-7 playoff victory over the pesky BullBoxers has put them in the 4th Grade Super Bowl. The 4th Grade Super Bowl will be held at 10:05am in the Hutchings gym on Friday, March 2nd. The Lions will face the winner of the Steelers/Cowboys playoff game, scheduled for February 17.

The BullBoxers got out of the gate early, taking a 7-0 when Kellen hauled in the first touchdown of the game. It didn't take long for the Lions to respond, as Mr. Horne found Matt B for an 80 yard touchdown strike on the very next play.

The weather then started to have an impact on the game. Cold temperatures, a slick playing surface, and a slippery football, made it tough for any consistent offense in a pass-only league. "The conditions today were the worst they've been all season," said all-time quarterback Mr. Horne. "I'm not making any excuses, but it got really tough to get a good grip on the football. Half of the passes I threw seemed like they slipped right out of my hand. This was not one of my better games."

The BullBoxers found it difficult to string positive plays together. They turned the ball over on 4 downs on their ensuing possession. Joe E put the Lions up 14-7 a 80 yard touchdown catch, a catch that looked very similar to Matt B's 80 yard score.

Down 14-7, Mr. Horne spotted the BullBoxers Josh C open in the endzone, but the throw was late and the Lions Bryan G steped in-front of Josh to make the interception. "That's the throw that I really want back," remarked Horne. "Josh was wide open and I kind of floated the ball in there. Looking back, I wish I would have put a little more mustard on that throw. I gave too much time for the defense to react."

The Lions scored 28 unanswered points after falling behind early, and Joe capped off the victory with a 20 yard touchdown reception on the last play of the game. "A great season for the BullBoxers, and the season is not quite over for the Lions," said Horne.

Mr. Horne did add one more comment after the game, "I can't wait till March 2nd. I'm looking forward to getting out of this cold, and play in the warm, dry gym for the Super Bowl!"
