Howell, MI - Cold temperatures and tough defenses kept the game between the Lions and Eagles a low scoring affair, as the Lions squeaked by, 14-7. Both defenses recorded timely, drive killing interceptions, but the Lions (3-0) offense was able to muster up one more score than the Eagles (0-2-1).

Brendan N hauled in his first touchdown reception of the season, tying the score at 7-7 in the second half, but the Eagles just missed their chance to tie as Mr. Horne's last second pass sailed past the outstretched arms of Tyler R as he broke open in the endzone.

Bryan G and Joe E both caught touchdown passes for the undefeated Lions, but it was the entire Lions defense that was the story of the day. "Tough. It was tough to find an open Eagle receiver out their today," remarked all-time quarterback Mr. Horne. "The Lions played some of the best defense I've seen this season. The Eagles couldn't get too much separation in the Lions secondary."

The win puts the Lions at the top of the standings, in a first place tie with the Steelers. The Lions also clinched a playoff berth with their victory. They will try to lock up a #1 or #2 seed in the playoffs with a win in their last regular season game vs the Lucky Ducks on January 6th.

The Eagles lost another close game. There two losses this season have been by a combined 14 points, and those loses have come against the league's top two teams (Steelers and Lions). "They (Eagles) can hold their heads up high after this loss," said Horne. "They fought hard, and they all played great. Especially Jakob M. He had a pick, and nearly made another interception."
